Q.  Why should I use a travel agent?
A.
Mann Travels has been an industry leader since 1975, and our services are free! We act as a liaison between you and the travel supplier (cruise line, tour company, etc.) to ensure that you get the lowest price and the best service.  We act as your advocate when any unexpected problems arise. Because we are one of the largest, privately-owned American Express agencies in the world, you benefit from our years of expertise, as well as from low, negotiated prices.

Q.  Is it better to wait until the last minute to book a trip?
A.  There is a myth that waiting until the last minute will get you an incredible bargain. While there are occassional last-minute deals, the vast majority of people find that airfare is sold out, the better cabin or room locations have been picked over, and the deal may turn out to be leftovers, or less-desirable accommodations than you would normally select for you or your family. Our philosophy has always been to select a trip you'll be happy with regardless, then select accommodations you 'll be happy with, and place a deposit. Later, if there is a price reduction that pertains to your vacation prior to final payment, we will gladly adjust your booking to reflect the lower rates. That's your protection against being penalized for planning ahead, plus you have the added advantage of knowing you have the vacation you want, traveling in the style you're accustomed to. It's a win-win situation.

Q.  Do I get a price break for bringing more people?
A.
Speak with one of our vacation specialists on this topic. Although you and your neighbor may consider yourselves a group, the suppliers may not. Cruise lines tend to consider a group 8 cabins or more (double occupancy or greater). Hoteliers or airlines may consider a minimum of 50 people as a group. Our trained staff will be happy to explain the parameters to you, based on your travel request. The short answer, though, is yes - there are price breaks when you meet the criteria set forward by the suppliers.

Q.  Do I have to fly if I want to take a cruise?
A.  In these times, cruise lines are bending over backwards to make cruises more available to people who prefer to drive to the ship rather than fly. New cruise ship ports such as Jacksonville, Galveston, Baltimore, Charleston, San Diego, Philadelphia, Norfolk and others have been added recently, with even more on the way.

Q.  Can you send me someplace warm?
A.
This is one of the most common requests: wanting to go someplace warm. Some destinations are warm year-round, while others - even in the best season - never get particularly warm. Also, seasonality has a huge bearing on this. Say you want to go to South America during the summer. Did you realize that our summer is their winter? Speak to one of our vacation specialists if you need assistance in selecting a trip, and we may be able to suggest possibilities to you if you are flexible on your timeframe and destination.

Q.  What is the most popular destination?
A.  The most popular destination is extremely subjective. We may be getting lots of requests around March for Cancun, Mexico, which is very popular with high school and college kids on Spring Break. But would Grandma & Grandpa be participating in MTV's Dance Party on the beach? Probably not. If a new, highly-touted destination becomes en vogue, it can also mean higher prices. Everything in travel is supply-and-demand, so if there's great demand and limited supply, the math becomes self-explanatory. If you feel you need assistance or suggestions for your vacation, our trained vacation specialists will be more than happy to help. We can customize your vacation to the wants, needs and desires that will satisfy you.though, is yes - there are price breaks when you meet the criteria set forward by the suppliers.
